Recently formed, and candid about it
We would rather tell you where we are than dress it up. J&D Vantage Quant LLP is a newly established partnership. We are actively taking on our first client engagements, and the practice has been structured from day one around a single principle: we sell engineering hours and deliverables, and nothing else.
Four commitments we hold ourselves to
The specification is the contract
Behaviour is written down and agreed before code is written. If we disagree about what the software should do, we would rather have that argument on paper at the start than in production later.
You own what we build
Source code, documentation and deployment notes are handed over. We do not create dependency by withholding the code, and another engineer can pick up our work.
We stay on our side of the line
We build the tool; you operate it. We never take custody of funds, never hold your credentials, and never take a share of what the software earns or loses.
We do not sell outcomes
We publish no returns, promise no profit and make no forecast. If a prospective client wants those, we are the wrong firm and we will say so.
The partners
Systems and research engineering. B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with NISM certification, working on market microstructure, rule specification and the analytical side of the software we build.
Platform and infrastructure engineering. B.E. in Information Technology, responsible for implementation, broker and exchange API integration, deployment and the operational tooling around delivered systems.
Client engagement and delivery. B.E. graduate and software developer, responsible for scoping, written specifications, project communication and making sure what is delivered is what was agreed.
Why we keep the scope this tight
There is an obvious commercial temptation in this sector to drift from building tools into running money — to move from "here is the software you asked for" to "give us the capital and we will handle it". That drift is how firms end up operating as unregistered intermediaries, and how clients end up with no recourse when something breaks.
We have deliberately closed that door. Our engagement letters, our pricing, our marketing and this website are all constructed so that the only thing we can be paid for is engineering work. There is no version of our service in which we hold your money.
It is a smaller business than the alternative. It is also one we can explain, in a single sentence, to a client, a bank or a regulator — and have every document we hold support that sentence.
